San Diego Black Film Festival
Celebrating their 5th Anniversary, the San Diego Black Film Festival takes place this year from January 31 - February 3 at Regal United Artists Theatre 14 in Horton Plaza.
The star studded screenings feature actors, Olympic athletes, NBA stars, Hip Hop stars & many more!
The San Diego Black Film Festival, originally known as the Noir Film Festival, was established in 2004 as a yearly fundraiser for the Black Historical Society of San Diego, the largest black historical society in the country.
The festivities for the event are as follows:
- January 31: Opening Reception
- February 1: Opening Party
- February 1-3: Film Screenings
- February 2: Film Panel Discussions, Celebrity Meet & Greet & Awards Party

Star Trek’s “Uhura” (and now Heroes’ “Nana Dawson”), Nichelle Nichols, is the star and executive producer ofthe suspense-comedy feature, Lady Magdalene’s, having its world-premiere screening at the San Diego Black Film Festival on Saturday, February 2nd at 8:00 PM (Regal United Artists 14 Theatres in Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego). Nichelle will be at this screening to introduce the movie and greet her fans! Advance tickets for this screening are $10 and can be ordered on the website of the San Diego Black Film Festival at http://www.sdbff.com/. You can see the Lady Magdalene’s trailer and a music video of Nichelle Nichols performing the new gospel song “Rahab the Harlot” from the movie soundtrack on Lady Magdalene’s official website at http://www.ladymagdalenes.com/.
